In The Garden & Down By The Lagoon.

Family

Initially, Sacha had reservations about doing an in-home session, but after careful consideration, she enthusiastically embraced the idea, much to my delight! When I arrived at their home in Glenbrook, I sensed immediately that we were about to capture something magical. This was not just a house; it was the very place where baby Koa was born and where he spent his precious first year. It felt deeply meaningful to do their family shoot here, amidst the memories and overflowing love.

In our conversations, Sacha and Mitch expressed their profound connection to nature and the outdoors. We started our shoot in their lush backyard, bathed in the soft glow of a beautiful afternoon. Koa delighted in plucking oranges from the citrus tree and gathering twigs, leaves, and flowers. It felt so incredibly natural capturing the Tomkins family’s boundless affection for Koa and witnessing the wonder of parents observing their child explore the world.

We concluded our session with a leisurely stroll to the stunning lagoon just across the road from their home. This serene spot held special significance for them, a place they frequented daily, wandering along the water’s edge and watching the ducks frolic about. My heart swelled with contentment as we wrapped up, reminded once again of nature’s importance in our lives and the profound beauty of witnessing a child interact with the natural world through their parents’ eyes.
